A new door opens

The days have breezed by and all too soon I am almost four months home. The dusts have settled again and I have put most things in order, my house, my finances and other things all in place. It had been a very busy time but as things slowed down I sometimes entertain thoughts if I would become bored or useless. But like I wrote in my "Farewell Switzerland" entry, when one door closed another one always opens. Well, Alhamdullilah another wonderful door is about to open for me very soon!
InshaAllah.
Stay tuned!

Alaska! Are you serious? Wow! Seeing Sarah Palin or something? Anyway have a great holiday! My friend missed her flight to Canada on Sunday because she stopped at my house to have some Johor laksa before going to the airport! I knew it would happen but she was so relaxed about it and sure enough it happened. She's trying to get on a flight tonight. Don't miss your flight...

Hi Roem,
Yup. Seriously. Alaska.

Nope. No Palin. PLEASE No Sara Palin.

I'll be going to LA first to meet up with some friends. Then we will all go northwards.

It may sound very adventurous but I am 'cheating' a bit by taking a cruise from Seattle. Hehehe.
However there will be some trying bits cos one of my friends has booked us all on a 6 mile hike in Juneau. I am not a particularly physically active person so .....que sera sera.

The fact that your friend missed her flight to Canada indicates that your Laksa Johor must be a 'killer'! Did you do the cooking?

Anyways, I am one of those terribly punctual people so I should be at the airport early (touch wood, steel and titanium!!!). Unless, of course I get invited to a Laksa Johor meal before that.....

My sister-in-law made the laksa, and it was worth missing a flight I can tell you!!!
I spent a week days criss-crossing Canada with four lady friends who did all the driving starting from Vancouver and we got so deep inland that I told them I haven't seen Vancouver yet and propmptly took the next local flight back to Vancover. I also crossed over into Seattle for two nights, nice place but unpleasanty immigration at the US side, watch out! Have a great holiday! Salam.
